This morning Gili and Lonsi, 2 of our language helpers, flew out of the bush
and joined us here at our base in Hoskins. For the next 10 days we as a
team will be working and learning together about Bible translation
principles. Immediately following that, we will have our 3rd language and
culture evaluation. With that in mind, here are a few praise items and
prayer requests to guide you in your prayers for us. Thank you!
Praise the Lord:
-For Gili and Lonsi both making it out safely and on time.
-For this great opportunity to learn about Bible translation principles.
-For progress the Lord has given us in language and culture study in
preparation for our upcoming evaluation.
Please Pray:
-For stamina and perseverance for our team: Adam and myself, Ryan and Nicki,
and Gili and Lonsi. (Especially Lonsi and Gili as this classroom schedule
is not something familiar to these 2 men.)
-For Gili and Lonsi to grasp better what our church planting work with them
is all about, and that the people they interact with (from other tribal
works who are also a part of the workshop) would be very positive.
-For open minds for all of us to grasp the principles being taught.
-For our language and culture evaluation to give an accurate showing to our
consultant where our abilities and weak spots are at, so that we can have
good direction for the coming months of continued study.
