Praise God:

  • For the needed repairs that were finally made to the sawmill we are using to cut timber! While it was fixed too late to make our planned trip on the 17th, God?s timing is perfect and the guys will travel down to Akolet land in early August to begin working on the storage shed.

  • For the needed repairs that were made to the planer we also need for building! Once a fellow missionary who is experienced in house-building returns from a short break later this week, the guys hope to begin preparing timber for planing.

  • For the work teams that our home church and a group from Ryan and Nicki Coleman's home area want to send our way to help with the immense workload of house-building! This will be not only an extremely practical help, but a very encouraging time for us.

Please Pray:

  • For the many details that need to fall into place in order for the work teams to be able to get here. Visas especially have been going slowly with the PNG government lately - please pray that the visas would quickly be granted and that everything else would come together smoothly in order for the teams to come in November.

  • For Adam and Ryan to be able to get the storage shed completed within 10 days. Please pray that the building would go smoothly and that they would be able to return as soon as possible in order to continue with house-building preparation here at Hoskins.

  • For the Jackson family making plans to arrive in PNG in early September. Please pray for their remaining time of raising financial support and spending precious time with family to be profitable, and that as they arrivethat Jonathan and Melissa and their 4 children would be able to adjust well to life here. Pray also for us, Colemans and Jacksons as we continue to seek the Lord together about Jacksons joining our work in Akolet.

  • For our hearts to be rooted solidly in the strength that God's love provides, and that that foundation would enable us to continue strongly during this stressful time of transition.

Praise God:

  • For the supply of aviation fuel arriving late last week after a long delay! Flight schedules are pretty much back to normal, making our travel plans much more manageable.

  • For the teams that our home church and a group from Ryan and Nicki Coleman's home area want to send our way to help with the immense workload of house-building! This will be not only an extremely practical help, but a very encouraging time for us.

  • For good team communication between us and the Colemans as we continue tackling big team decisions and working closely together as we prepare for house-building.

Please Pray:

  • For the needed repairs to be made quickly to the sawmill we are using to cut timber to begin building. We would like to see the sawmill fixed and all the necessary timber ready to build a small storage shed by July 17th. (The storage shed will also serve as temporary housing for us while our actual houses are being built.)

  • For the needed repairs to be made quickly to the planer we also need for building.  Broken equipment can slow things down a lot!

  • For us as a team to find the balance between patience when the process of moving to Akolet is going more slowly than we would like, and urgency so that we continue to press ahead as strongly as we can.

  • For our hearts to be rooted solidly in the strength that God's love provides, and that that foundation would enable us to continue strongly during this stressful time of transition.
